CES 2016: The Future of Beauty

Last week I attended CES in Las Vegas. If you are asking yourself, "What is CES?" you are not alone. I actually had no idea it existed until a friend asked if I would attend with them 3 weeks ago. In short, CES is the Consumer Electronics Show where all of the latest and greatest in technology is showcased.

If you want to see where the future of technology is taking us, acquire some creative ideas for your business and/or interested in getting an edge up on your industry, this is the place to be.  As a side, if you are single, like me, and you want to catch a well-dressed international nerdy guy, the ratio of men to women were 200:1. With over 150,000 people in attendance our odds are pretty good!

Being at CES was like taking a walk into the future of healthcare, fitness, housewares, transportation, media and of course my favorite beauty. The most forward thinking product coming to market which I believe everyone is talking about is the driver-less vehicle. There were lots of keynotes and panel discussions around the growing popularity of livestreaming video and the convergence of traditional media and the internet. In other words, how can companies better read your mind while you are consuming information or entertainment, so that you will buy more of their stuff?

Although, I was a bit disappointed by the extremely small number of beauty exhibitors, I was inspired to see more companies focused on the health behind the aesthetics of a persons beauty. Here are a couple I thought were interesting:

La Clinique Digitale a sense and treat technology. It will tell you have you need to adjust your skincare routine based on the moisture in your skin.

Simple Human this mirror turns on by sensor and gives you true sunlight. They also have a larger one which has an app where you can adjust the lighting depending on where you are going and time of day. No need to guess anymore about how your makeup will look once you leave your home.

If you were at CES 2016 I would love to hear your thoughts about the conference. Would you consider going next year?
